In a Q&A after a keynote a couple of years ago, I was asked: " When will traditional businessanalysis subsume the web analytics silo? " " My reply: " All business will ultimately be digital, so, if anything, web analytics will subsume businessanalysis! " Businessanalysis.
From 2014 onwards, I tried to do exactly that. I went through four years of personal hell as a PASS Board member, taking s**t from people who just did not believe that businessanalysis, business analytics or similar related technologies such as Power BI had any place at the PASS table.
First, someone worked really hard on this and created a really nice model for a smarter decision to be made for 2014. All, very good discussion about the business, and not the data. We ended up in a place with a lot more businessanalysis, and you had to work harder to develop a point of view on what to do.
