While the history is not certain, most authorities credit the pioneer of graphical statistics, William Playfair , with creating this icon, which appeared in his Statistical Breviary, first published in 1801 [2]. The left-hand Pie Chart is smaller and so we assume that annual sales have increased between 2016 and 2017.

Throughout I use the word “category” to refer to something discrete that is plotted on an axis, for example France, Germany, Italy and The UK, or 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. Some authorities describe them as any diagram using a map to display statistical data; I cover this type of general chart in Map Charts below.

My analysis is based on the Financial statements put forward by PASS using some basic metrics; until you do that piece, you can’t move forward to compare and contrast it with other data since you have not done your ‘descriptive statistical analysis’ first to ensure that the comparison is valid. From 2014 onwards, I tried to do exactly that.
