'Every indicator we have is that companies are investing more in every facet of analytics. Tools. People. Consulting. Processes. Yet, it is unclear if that increase in investment is being followed by a commensurate increase in value delivered to the organization's bottom-line. A part of reason for this mis-match in value delivered is that there is a natural evolution that needs to occur.
I don’t like making predictions, so rest assured this is not another of a myriad of predictions articles that hit the media annually. Instead, let’s kick start the year with some definite plans and aspirations of companies in the business intelligence sphere. A great place for an insightful, real-world view of BI trends is my weekly #BIWisdom tweetchats with BI customers, vendors and consultants.
These are few points from an email I sent to members of the Data Science Sydney Meetup. I suppose other Kaggle beginners may find it useful. My first steps when working on a new competition are: Read all the instructions carefully to understand the problem. One important thing to look at is what measure is being optimised. For example, minimising the mean absolute error (MAE) may require a different approach from minimising the mean square error (MSE).
Welcome to 2014! We’ve started the year with a bang. Your faith has been a big part of this watershed moment in the company’s history. Thank you for your unflinching support. As the new year begins, I’ll take the liberty to make some industry predictions, although I acknowledge how perilous it is to hold an imaginary crystal ball.
AI adoption is reshaping sales and marketing. But is it delivering real results? We surveyed 1,000+ GTM professionals to find out. Over the years of conducting our Wisdom of Crowds® Business Intelligence Market Study on various aspects of BI the percentage of respondents that report success with their BI initiatives increases each time. Yet there are still some that report failures. Success begets even more success, of course. What enables an outcome of “mission accomplished” and what causes failures?
Another tough stage for the competitors and a very pleasant drive along the coast to beautiful Antofagasta. Great weather, light breeze, and nicely located bivouac.
In recent times a lot has been deliberated on Convergence and Hyperconverged infrastructure topics, but these topics are not new for large-scale web companies. Years ago large-scale web companies started to face pressure from business to deliver better service agility at lower costs.

After the rest day, the cars and trucks got a relatively easy track. Still there were some issues for the competitors. Henk had to fix the Dodge again but did finish the same day which is a positive trend.
How do you know when a datacenter technology manufacturer has something truly disruptive? One sign is when channel partners start to focus their businesses around selling and implementing the manufacturer’s solutions.
On the eve of our Series D, I am going to tell a visual story of our company. It’s going to be about positive ions, about the electric field we operate in, and about how a certain velocity differentiates us from the “also-ran” stationary atoms.
Speaker: Ben Epstein, Stealth Founder & CTO | Tony Karrer, Founder & CTO, Aggregage
When tasked with building a fundamentally new product line with deeper insights than previously achievable for a high-value client, Ben Epstein and his team faced a significant challenge: how to harness LLMs to produce consistent, high-accuracy outputs at scale. In this new session, Ben will share how he and his team engineered a system (based on proven software engineering approaches) that employs reproducible test variations (via temperature 0 and fixed seeds), and enables non-LLM evaluation m
